"Dress Lobby" Scandal Comes Under Investigation

The Seoul District Prosecutor's Office on May 28 decided to conduct an investigation into the 'Dress Lobby' scandal. There is no question the decision was propelled by a lawsuit launched by Yon Jung Hee, the wife of current Justice Minister Kim Tae Jung. Mrs. Yon's libel suit is against Lee Hyong Ja, the wife of Shindongah Group's Chairman Choi Soon Young.
The unprecedented, high-profile suit will probably be settled by the investigation.
A source from the prosecutor's office said on May 28, 'Although this incident was previously brought to an end by the Blue House(Chong Wa Dae)'s secret agents, we will go over it again as the general public still retains doubts on the case.'
Prosecutors have received pertinent material on the case from the Chong Wa Dae team and will summon related ministers' wives in succession.
Mrs. Yon, who has repeatedly asserted her innocence regarding the scandal, stated in her suit, 'I have never bought a mink coat at any dress shop nor asked Mrs. Lee to pay for one on my behalf.'
