Job Prospect Book Published

As employment concepts in Korea shift from expectations for a lifelong job to an emphasis on taking employment where it can be found and moving around, a new book called 'Korea Job Prospects' was launched on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Labor, which published the book, divides 12,000 actual job descriptions into 213 broader professional catagories, in which future prospects in the particular field, training processes, promotion possibilities and wages are detailed.
Flexibility is a new requirement for the Korean workforce. For example, the number of fifth-level public officials will be reduced over the next five years while salaries increase to a basic pay of 570 dollars a month.
The Ministry expects that the demand for information and engineering related occupations, such as systems engineer, designer, aviation pilot and social welfare planner, will grow in the 21st century, .
