President of Microsoft Korea Abruptly Resigns

President Kim Jae-min of Microsoft Korea Co. abruptly resigned reportedly because he has been placed on a waiting list to work in the United States by U.S.-based Misrosoft.
Microsoft Korea announced that Mr. Kim submitted his resignation because of personal reasons, and Koh Hyun-jin, executive director of the company, will replace him as acting president.
The company said that the former president hoped to work for U.S. Microsoft because he wanted to spend time with his family, currently living in the U.S.
However, he was reportedly forced to resign by U.S Microsoft because he did not adroitly handle the anti-dumping investigation against the company carried out by the Korean Fair Trade Commission. In addition, he may be held partially accountable for the failed takeover of Hangul & Computer Co. and the uproar caused by the collective protest of merchants at Yongsan Electronics Shopping Center over the price of Microsoft Windows 98.
In particular, apparently the directors of U.S. Microsoft, including President Steve Balmer, were quite angry over Mr.Kim's inability to handle the matters.
