CEMC to Take Direct Action against Candidate Misconduct
The Central Election Management Committee has decided to refer election candidates who violate election laws directly to the court, in the case that the prosecution fails to proceed with charges.A high-ranking official within the CEMC said that "the decision was made to invalidate the election of candidates who have violated election laws," on April 4.
He added that "the CEMC will only refer candidates to the court when there is clear proof of their malfeasance. No candidate clearly guilty of misconduct will be excepted from referral to the court, even if prosecutors do not act on the evidence."
