Final Push toward General Elections
With only a week before the general elections, candidates from the three major parties are turning their attentions on their respective regional bases.Suh Young-hoon, a candidate for the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP), will hold a streetside campaign in west Inchon. Rhee In-jae, the chief of the MDP's election campaign, will join a labor union meeting in Kumsan.
Lee Hoi-chang of the Grand National Party (GNP) will conduct streetside campaigns in Pusan, Ulsan, and Jinhae. Hong Sa-duk, the chief of the GNP's election campaign, will give speeches in nine regions in Seoul, including Chongno, Yongsan, and Songbuk.
Kim Jong-pil, the honorary president of the United Liberal Democrats (ULD), will swing through Chungchong province on the last leg of his campaign tour.
