Putin Plans Visit Here in Spring
President Vladimir Putin of Russia will visit South Korea in the spring, a senior Russian official said Wednesday in Seoul."President Putin initially planned to make a visit to South Korea late this year, but the visit was put off at the request of the Russian parliament because of domestic issues that need to be resolved," said Dmitri Rogozin, chairman of the Russian Duma's Committee on International Affairs.
Asked about the cancellation of talks between Prime Minister Lee Han-dong and Mr. Putin, the legislator said the talks did not take place because of technical problems, not because of political motives.
South Korea's prime minister made a four-day official visit to Moscow last month.
