Firms Accused of Unfairness
The chairman of the Fair Trade Commission Wednesday accused companies under workout a program or settlements agreement with creditors of damaging healthy companies through unfair competition. The chairman, Lee Nam-kee, said these companies, with preferential low interest rates on loans, are selling products at low prices, which the other companies cannot possibly match, indicating that supplementary measures to these programs are needed.Regarding the government policy of designating the thirty largest groups, Mr.Lee said, "The conglomerates need to come up with specific plans to improve management practices before asking for the abolition of the policy."
