Hyundai's Project Gets New Investor

Japan's Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank agreed with Hyundai Industrial Development Construction Co. to invest $100 million in an expressway project connecting Taegu and Pusan.

The price tag for the entire project is estimated at 2.5 trillion won ($1.9 billion).

The builder said Monday that the project has gained additional momentum with the Japanese bank's decision.

Several domestic financial institutions, including Korea Development Bank, invested 1.1 trillion won in the project last year.

Construction is scheduled to be complete in late 2005.
