CHARITY FAIR

March 7: The designer Sans Frontieres is holding a Charity fair, “Designed for you,” on March 7. It will feature fashion accessories, jewelry and decorative furnishings. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the “Special Olympics Korea” charity.

AL JARREAU LIVE IN SEOUL

March 4 to 5: For the first time in Seoul, the 5-Grammy award-winning vocalist Al Jarreau will hold live concerts at Central City Millennium Hall on March 4th and at the Seoul Arts Center on March 5th. He and his 7-member music crew will present songs from the Best of Al Jarreau and numerous other hit albums. Tickets sell from 30,000 won ($25) to 100,000 won (a 10 percent discount is available to AmCham & EU chamber members).

Every hour on the hour are films on Korean art and culture. “Korean Treasures” plays on the second floor. “Traditional Korean Wedding” and “Gyeongju Namsan” play on the second floor. “Seokguram Grotto” and “Korean Architecture” are screened in the basement.

MUSEUM OF KOREAN TRADITIONAL MUSIC

Exhibits feature the history of gugak (traditional Korean music), the traditional instruments of gugak and the personal possessions of gugak masters. Audio-visual materials and books are on display, as well as a hall filled with the articles and tools of Tae Maru Kim Ki-su, a major influence in the development of Korean traditional music.

THE SHILLA SEOUL

March 8, 9: “Les 5.” Five of the top wine producers from Bordeaux, Club de Cinq, will hold a Gala Dinner at La Continentale. Club de Cinq will explain about the history of the wineries, introduce their magnificent vintages and present about 30 of the best wines. French dishes will be matched by six of the Bordeaux wines. Tickets for dinner are 220,000 won ($190).
