Roh will start a series of weekly radio talks

The Blue House said yesterday that President Roh Moo-hyun would begin giving weekly radio addresses in July.
The date has not been confirmed, but it is expected to be some time after July 14, when KBS begins an all-news radio channel. Mr. Roh will speak for about 10 minutes, probably every Monday evening.
It will be a way to communicate government policy clearly and without misunderstanding, the Blue House said.
Asked if the radio addresses could help the government party in next year’s general election, the Blue House said the idea was initiated by KBS.
The new chairman of the Grand National Party, Choe Byung-yul, said he was not against the plan. But he said it was important for the opposition to be given “a fair chance” to express its views, too.
