Hewlett shows photo print gear

Hewlett Packard, the U.S. computer maker, will invest $100 million in the Asia Pacific region through 2004 to promote new products that allow consumers to print digital photos at home, David Ryan, marketing manager of digital cameras for the company, said yesterday. Mr. Ryan was in Korea to attend the launch of the new product line here. Using its strength in printing technology, Hewlett Packard aims to expand its presence in Korea’s digital camera market, he said. The company unveiled 20 new models, including high resolution printers that produce photographs taken with digital cameras. Hewlett Packard holds 7 percent of the Korea’s market in digital cameras. Korea’s digital camera market is expected to double within a year.
