SK Telecom to block spam sent to youths

SK Telecom said it would block unsolicited commercial cell phone messages to subscribers under 20 years old, beginning next Thursday. Customers can now request that such messages be blocked, but the cell phone carrier said it would now do so automatically for its youthful subscribers. Text messages containing callback numbers other than those of cell phones, including the 060 and 030 commercial prefixes, will also be blocked. SK said that all its subscribers will be protected from commercial messages between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. SK Telecom is also seeking approval to provide a service that would allow its subscribers to block incoming calls from 10 phone numbers of the customer’s choice.
