Powercomm banned from new subscribers
Powercomm Co., Korea’s third-largest Internet provider affiliated with the LG Group, will be banned from signing up new subscribers for up to five months for violating government regulations. The Korea Communications Commission under the Ministry of Information and Communication said yesterday that Powercomm was found to have violated the so-called interconnection regulation “by having shared network identification numbers with its parent Dacom Corp.” It imposed a fine of 21.7 million won ($20,970) and banned Powercomm from accepting new clients for three to five months, effective Oct. 1.
