Cha Du-ri decides to join Korea’s national team

Cha Du-ri, who hung up his boots last year, will be joining the Korean national team as the advance scout.

The Korea Football Association announced Thursday that the ex-national football team’s fullback will serve under German-born manager Uli Stielike until the end of the final round of regional qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.

Lee Yong-soo, technical director of the KFA, said, “Cha [who speaks fluent German] will play a role of a bridge between the coaching staff and the players.”
