Opening
Everland has opened Lost Valley Wild Road, a renovated route of the park’s Lost Valley animal park, which first opened in 2013. Along with Safari World, the zoo is now takes up about 53,000 square meters (570,487 square feet) and is filled with 300 animals, including giraffes, elephants, cheetahs and more.
Everland designed Wild Road so that visitors might get an even closer look at the animals in the park.
It has also set up gigantic murals using technology called projection mapping, where visitors can see images of imaginary animals that only exist in fiction. Wild Road is staffed by many different exploration leaders who act as archeologists or animal specialists to make a visit to the park more exciting.

Seoul, Gyeonggi, and South Chungcheong

The Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism offers a chance to enjoy a visit to temples in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and South Chungcheong with a free bus ride. The bus leaves from the Templestay Information Center, located across from Jogye Temple in central Seoul.
On April 30, the Center will offer a shuttle bus for a one day visit to Jinkwan Temple in Eunpyeong District, northern Seoul, along with lunch, an English-speaking cultural guide and some souvenirs for just 10,000 won ($8.7).
A two-day visit to Geumsun Temple in Jongno District, central Seoul, is also available for 20,000 won. This includes dinner on the day of your arrival, and breakfast and lunch on the day of departure, along with transportation, a cultural guide and an English interpreter. Other activities and souvenirs are included as well.
For the other two trips, the Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism will take people outside of Seoul. A one-day trip to Bongsun Temple on May 11 will cost 10,000 won, and includes lunch, transportation, a tour guide and an interpreter along with some other activities and gifts to bring back home.
Scheduled for May 30 is a two-day trip to Magok Temple in Gongju, South Chungcheong, which costs 60,000 won. Dinner on the day of arrival, breakfast and lunch on the day of departure are included, as well as the bus ride, a guide and an interpreter to help visitors learn more Korea’s temple culture. Yeongwol County, Gangwon

The festival is the main festival of Yeongwol, Gangwon. It was established in memory of the Joseon Dynasty’s King Danjong, who fell victim to his uncle’s ambition to take the throne.
In addition to ritual services for Danjong, various cultural and art performances, traditional folk games and exhibitions are slated for the three-day period.

Aroma
Restaurant Soigne, Seocho District

Restaurant Soigne, known for changing its entire menu every three months, has unveiled its first tasting menu of 2019, titled “Aroma.”
Chef Lee Jun, who is best known for his take on Korean-inspired French cuisine, was inspired to create items on the menu while researching herbs and spices.
The Aroma menu is split into different aromatic groups: earthy, fruity, floral and more. Dishes include an earthy, beetroot and mushroom combination with taleggio cheese foam and horseradish, as well as a quail roulage main with orange and ginger glaze, black garlic, dark chocolate and a saffron and sweet potato mousse.
“One of my favorite dishes from this menu is the rosemary ice-cream with olive oil and carrot cake,” says Chef Lee. “It sits right in the middle of ‘herb’ and ‘spice.’”
Soigne, which opened in 2015, is the only fine-dining restaurant in Seoul to completely change its menu every season.
“Aroma” marks the restaurant’s 20th menu. Last year, the restaurant served dishes using the themes “Cuisine of the Three Coasts,” “Korean Wild Greens, Namul” and more.
The “Aroma” menu will run until early May, and the more detailed date will be notified later. Lunch at Soigne starts at 75,000 won ($66), and dinner is priced from 148,000 won.

The Flower: Romance Charging Station
U-Plex Hyundai Department Store’s Sinchon branch, Seodaemun District

You do not need to go out of the city to enjoy flowers welcoming the warm spring season.
Hyundai Department Store’s Sinchon branch is gathering many florists to decorate the shopping center. Fresh flowers will be used to decorate 22 different rooms under four different themes, and visitors will find many picture-perfect scenes throughout the department store.
The exhibition, which runs until May, will change flowers every month to show the variety of plants available in Korea - protea ice queen from South Africa will welcome visitors in March; diamond roses from India, will be on display in April; and the rainbow tulip will fill up the store in May.
Couples, friends and families can take photos in front of different flowers and become inspired for their next floral bouquets.
Florists will be on hand and working at the department store to show visitors how florists make floral installations. The flower exhibition will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesdays to Fridays, and until 10 p.m. on weekends. It will be open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays.
Admission for adults is 12,000 won and 9,000 won for teens. Tickets are available on Ticket Link, Ticket Monster and Naver Reservation.
