Four Compete for Daehan Life
Four companies ; LG, French AXA, the U.S.'s Metropolitan and American Insurance Group(AIG) are poised to take over the Daehan Life Insurance Co.A source from the Financial Supervisory Commission(FSC) said on April 14 that 4 out of the initial 8 groups clearly showed their interest in the bidding.
Lotte and GE Capital might not join in the competition though. Lotte chairman Shin Kyok Ho recently hesitated on the potential investment.
LG and AXA are looking over the Daehan's preliminary examination.
FSC will receive the letter outlining Daehan's intention to open bidding in early May. They will declare the successful bidder in June with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
