Stock Market to Close on Saturdays
Korea's stock market will be closed every Saturday beginning the second week of December. Since its founding, Korea's stock market has been open on Saturdays.The Korea Stock Exchange (KSE) announced on September 20 that it completed its consultations with the Ministry of Finance and Economy about closing the stock market on Saturday and agreed to implement the decision in the second week of December.
Instead, KSE decided to extend morning session times during weekdays (Mon.~ Fri.) by one hour from 09:30~11:30 am to 09:00~12:00 am.
