German Production to Invest $ 2 Million in "Dooly"

The Korean animated cartoon 'Dooly', which has found success in overseas market including Germany, will be reproduced as a TV series through the investment of a German company.
Doolynara, which produced Dooly, announced on October 18 that its overseas promoter and a German company, Medienhaus Dessau, have agreed to the German firm's investment of $ 2 million in order to produce 26 episodes of Dooly.
The two companies confirmed the contract at the Pusan International Film Festival on October 16 and plan to sign a contract on October 20 in Seoul.
Medienhaus Dessau is a TV production company that has made 36 TV programs and movies for TV and cinema.
The Doolynara's promoter said, 'Medienhaus decided to invest after 'Dooly's Adventure in the Ice Star' was aired in Germany.'
The TV series, featuring a pint-sized baby dinasaur named Dooly, will be made and shot over about one year from next August, with 7.8 billion won in production costs. Doolynara plans to attract more capital from domestic and Japanese investors.
Dooly, which was launched as a cartoon in 1980's, has also been produced for TV and a full-length animation film released in cinemas in the 1990's.
