Heavy Typhoon Rain Forecast Thursday
Influenced by a typhoon, Chungchong, Cholla, Kyongsang and Kangwon provinces will receive heavy rainfall on Thursday.At least 80 millimeters of rain is expected to fall on Cheju Island.
"The Korean Peninsula will receive rain, falling under the influence of typhoon Xangsan, which is now moving northeastward at a speed of 30 kilometers an hour," the official of Korean Meteorological Association said Wednesday.
The South Coast and East Coast were issued typhoon warnings by the weather association during the evening.
The rain will probably not continue beyond Thursday as the typhoon slowly moves toward Kyushu in Japan.
