Independent Filmmakers" Festival Opens Tomorrow

The festival of independent filmmakers, 'Indi-Forum 99', opens at 7:00 p.m., May 21 at the Artsonje Center in Seoul and will continue through May 30.
The festival opens with the film 'Aqua-Requiem' directed by Lim Chang Jae, followed by an opening night concert featuring the independent bands 'Amu Band' and '99 ninety-nine'.
'Aqua-Requiem' uses water imagery in a profound meditation on death, while telling a story of a boy and girl's life.
Director Kim Shi Un's 'Ha Woo Dueng', describes the nostalgia for lost things, was selected as the festival's closing piece.
The festival features 70 films in three categories - Drama, Documentary, and Animation. Screenings begin at noon everyday, and a special midnight show will be presented on Saturday.
The drama section has 38 recently made movies, such as 'Picnic' directed by Song Il Gon and director Choi So Won's 'Metropolitan Boy and Girl', while 12 documentaries and 10 animated films will be shown.
The Indi-Forum Committee plans a road show to Taegu, Taejun, Chongju and Kwangju from early June to late July.
