KBS to Air Climber Um"s Another Attempt Live

The Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) is to air Um Hong-kil's attempt to climb the world's third-highest mountain, Kangchenjunga in the Himalayas range, live over 18 days.
Korea's public broadcaster plans to begin the 'millennium special' at 7:35pm September 3. KBS will broadcast the team's progress three times daily, on its news program 'News Today' (2TV), 'KBS News 9' (1TV) and 'Hometown at 6 o'clock' (1TV), until they reach the summit on September 23.
Um has conquered 12 peaks, including Mt. Everest, out of the 14 mountains in Himalayas. If Um succeeds at this challenge, KBS will broadcast the climber's attempt at the last mountain in Himalayas, K2, which is scheduled for next August.
