MBC Announces the End of Plagiarism
Published: 04 Jan. 2003, 17:57
The Munhwa Broadcasting Company(MBC) began a policy that will prevent the production of plagiarized television shows since it officially apologized to viewers on March 29 for blatantly copying the Japanese drama 'Love Generation', which it titled 'Youth'.
MBC will penalize writers and production staff, including members of MBC affiliates, who knowingly copy another show. The broadcaster concluded that plagiarism cannot remain in Korea's television industry any longer.
President Roh Sung Dae ordered to draw up a plan to end the popular practice of mimicking Japanese shows.
