Pansori Performance at National Theater

Starting this year, the National Theater will not produce any more ballets or operas. They have decided to show only different kinds of traditional Korean music, dancing, and drama. Korean traditional Pansori music will be performed on the small stage of the National Theater on the last Saturday of every month. For more information call (02)-2274-1172.
'Ryu Kwan-soon the martyr' will be sung by professional Pansori singer Jung Soon-im for the first performance. 'Ryu Kwan-soon the martyr' was written by famous Pansori singer Park Dong-sil after Korea gained independence from Japan. In the past, the song was sung by other famous Pansori singers like the now deceased Kin So-hui. Now, Jung Soon-im is the only one who can do justice to 'Ryu Kwan-soon the martyr.'
