Seoul International Dance Festival to be Held

The International Dance Council (CID)-UNESCO Korea Chapter will hold a Seoul International Dance Festival (SIDance 99) from August 30 to September 19 at four theaters including the National Theater and Seoul Arts Center.
Six dance groups from overseas and 12 Korean dance teams will perform during the festival.
Second Hand Dance from the U.S. will stage 14 pieces, such as Human Fly, Slow Waltz with Dogs and Piazzolla Tango, which combine acrobatics, dance and comedy.
The Japanese female team H.ART Chaos, led by a Korean-Japanese Naoko Shirakawa, will demonstrate new workings of the classic repertoires, Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake.
Zorba The Greek will be presented by NAFSIKA Dance Theater from Greece.
Korean dancers, including Hong shin-ja and Lee Jong-hee, will perform Korean traditional and contemporary pieces.
