GNP Holds Massive Rally

The opposition Grand National Party(GNP) on September 29 held a massive assembly at Seoul Station in spite of the ruling National Congress for New Politics(NCNP)'s stern warning.
GNP mobilized most of their party members and attacked the ruling party's misuse of power against them. This rally which followed ones held in Pusan and Taegu's demonstrates the GNP's frustration with the ruling party. If it is successful, it will divert the public's attention away from the current political investigation towards the ruling party's inflexible stance. This would put the ruling party on the defensive and at a disadvantage. Over 30,000 people including party president Lee Hoi Chang attended the demonstration which outlined the government's one sided, biased investigation together with the incompetence on recent unemployment problems.
After the ceremony, GNP members walked up to the Kwanghwamun downtown areas for more exposure and publicity .
Meanwhile the NCNP refuted thr GNP's action and claimed they were neither successful nor helpful in solving the pending troubles but rather caused more confusion and agitation for the people.
