Brazilian President to Visit
President Fernando Henrique Cardoso of Brazil will make a four-day state visit from Jan. 17-20, presidential spokesman Park Joon-young announced Monday.Mr. Cardoso's visit is the first by a Brazilian president since South Korea established relations with the South American country in 1959.
Mr. Cardoso will meet with President Kim Dae-jung, discuss bilateral trade and cooperation in the international arena, including the United Nations.
The two leaders are expected to sign an agreement governing cooperation in the "peaceful uses of nuclear energy", and another abolishing visa requirements."
