New Ambassadors Named at 20 Posts
In a periodic reshuffle, the government appointed Tuesday former Deputy Foreign Minister Jang Jai-ryong as ambassador to France and Moon Dong-suk, research head at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, as ambassador to Switzerland.In all, 20 new envoys and three consuls general were appointed, a foreign ministry official said.
Ambassador Oh Yoon-kyung, adviser on international relations at the Taejon Metropolitan Government, was named ambassador to Egypt and Kang Wung-sik, director general for American affairs at foreign affairs institute was named to run Korea's embassy in Mexico.
Kim Myong-bai, consul general in Los Angeles, was named ambassador to Brazil.
