Food poisoning reported in Ulsan
Eleven employees of a petrochemical complex in Ulsan are in critical condition after eating at a nearby restaurant yesterday. The symptoms of the workers seem closest to toxic chemical food poisoning, Ulsan Police said. Two of them remain unconscious and are in intensive care.Around noon yesterday, six factory workers went down with sudden acute symptoms of epilepsy and paralysis and had difficulty breathing after eating gookbab (rice served in soup) and pajeon (green onion pancakes) at a restaurant close to the complex, said the police.
On Monday, five other employees who had eaten at the same restaurant were taken to emergency rooms displaying similar symptoms. They are being treated in Central Ulsan and Uri downtown hospitals.
