Well done, Korean athletes!장하다, 우리 선수들!
In the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, which ended on Aug. 24,/ we ranked seventh in the medal count with 13 gold medals.
8월 24일 폐막한 2008 베이징 올림픽에서,/ 한국은 13개의 금메달로 메달집계 세계 7위를 차지했다.
This was Korea’s best Olympic haul ever,/ securing a priceless gold medal in swimming - a first for Asia/ - even though Korea has long been considered a barren ground for swimming.

These countries aim to boost social athletics/ and try to provide ample social support.
이런 나라들은 사회체육을 진작시키려 애쓰고/ 충분한 사회적 지원을 제공하려고 노력한다.
However,/ Korean athletes lack a sound foundation of social athletics,/ and the government does not provide the support that athletes here need.
하지만,/ 한국선수들은 탄탄한 사회체육 기반이 결여되어 있고/ 정부는 선수들이 이곳에서 필요로 하는 지원도 제공하지 않는다.
Korea’s Olympic performance this year/ was due to the good spirit of our sportsmen and sportswomen.
올해 한국의 올림픽 성적은/ 우리 스포츠 선수들의 훌륭한 정신 덕분이었다.
But most Koreans are unfamiliar/ with some of the sports that Korea did well in,/ except for baseball, football and basketball.
