Multilingual checkups coming

Beginning in July, translation and interpretation services will be offered during medical checkups on small children from multicultural homes, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced yesterday. Together with the Health Ministry, the Gender Equality Ministry said it will provide English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Filipino translations of medical forms on the National Health Insurance Corporation and the Central Office for Multicultural Family Support Centers home pages. Parents of children younger than 5 will also be able to get interpretation services during checkups by applying to the family support center at (02)1577-5432.
