President Lee Myung-bak gave a pep talk yesterday to Korean athletes who will compete in the upcoming Asian Games in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. “Upon seeing the youth of Korea, especially the athletes, I think the future of our country is very bright,” Lee said during an early morning visit to the National Training Center in northern Seoul. “You are standing at the center of Korea’s enhanced status in the world.” Korea is sending 950 athletes in 41 sports to the games, set to open next Friday.
