Choo autobiography to hit stores March 30

An autobiographical essay by Choo Shin-soo, the lone Korean player in Major League Baseball, will hit Korean stores on March 30.

Seedpaper, a local publisher, said the book, titled “Enjoy Today and Dream Tomorrow,” will tell the success story of the 28-year-old right fielder for the Cleveland Indians and his trying moments in the minors before finally reaching the MLB.

“I understand that it’s probably out of my league to discuss secrets to success when I haven’t reached my best,” Choo writes in his prologue. “But I’d just like to become a reliable friend for you as we both embark on a journey that is life.”

Those who reserve their books online by March 29 will receive copies autographed by Choo.

Last season, Choo had a .300 batting average and set career highs with 22 home runs, 90 RBI, 22 steals and a .401 on-base percentage. He is the first Indians player since 1901 to have back-to-back seasons of at least a .300 batting average, 20 home runs and 20 steals.
