Another try to sell Woori Finance

The stalled sale of Woori Finance Holdings, the nation’s largest banking group by assets, is being pursued again and is likely to be completed before the end of this year.

그 동안 중단됐던 자산규모 국내 1위 은행그룹인 우리금융의 매각 작업이 재개돼 연말까지 마무리될 것으로 보인다.
The Public Fund Oversight Committee announced yesterday a road map for the privatization of Woori Finance, under which all Woori Finance subsidiaries, including two regional banks - Kwangju Bank and Kyungnam Bank - and brokerage unit Woori Investment & Securities Co., will be sold to a single buyer.

공적자금관리위원회는 어제 우리금융을 광주은행, 경남은행, 우리투자증권 등 우리금융 자회사들과 함께 일괄매각하는 민영화 방식을 발표했다.
Potential buyers will be required to bid for a minimum of 30 percent of the group’s shares when submitting a letter of intent. That is higher than the 4 percent minimum in last year’s attempt, which fell apart last December.

인수 희망자는 입찰참가 의향서를 제출할 때 우리금융 지분의 30% 이상을 인수하겠다고 밝혀야 한다. 지난해 12월에 무산됐을 때는 입찰자격이 4% 이상 인수 희망자였다.
The committee has decided to sell all subsidiaries of Woori Finance to a single buyer instead of selling them separately. The 30 percent minimum stake indicates that the government is seeking a long-term owner, according to officials.

공자위는 우리금융 자회사들을 분할매각하는 대신 단일 인수자에게 모두 매각하기로 결정했다. 정부 관계자들에 따르면, 30% 이상 지분 인수 조건은 정부가 장기적으로 소유할 인수자를 찾고 있다는 뜻이다.
The Korea Deposit Insurance Corp., the state-run agency that owns a 57 percent stake in Woori Finance, will accept letters of intent until June 29, and plans to get final bids in September, the committee explained.

우리금융 지분 57%를 소유하고 있는 국영 예금보험공사는 6월 29일까지 입찰참가 의향서를 접수하고 9월에 최종입찰을 받을 계획이라고 공자위는 설명했다.
