The Bears host the Eagles with an eye toward avenging last week’s series loss against Hanwha. The Bears, considered the top contender for the KBO title along with the SK Wyverns, have struggled this month, with 14 losses in 20 games. The team will be looking for two of its starting pitchers - Fernando Nieve and Hong Sang-sam - to improve from their previous starts, with either Kim Sun-woo or Dustin Nippert likely to be the third starter.
The Eagles are currently last in team batting average (.231) and ERA (5.11) but have picked up the pace with solid performances by starting pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin.
The Bears on Friday will host a beer drinking contest at the end of the fifth inning and will also host a draw for a free dinner at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill.
