2011.7.15 Weekend Picks: KBO* Kia Tigers (48-32) at Samsung Lions (44-2-29)
* Daegu Baseball Stadium, Daegu
* Today, 6:30 p.m. / Saturday, Sunday, 5 p.m.
This is perhaps the biggest series before the KBO All-Star break next weekend, as the Tigers and Lions (no Bears to be seen here) will both be looking to gain momentum heading into the season’s midway point.
The two teams have split their eight head-to-head games evenly, 4-4.
Two players, one on each team, have had some remarkable success against the other so far this season. Small sample sizes aside, Tigers third baseman Lee Bum-ho has a .355 batting average with two home runs and six RBI against the Lions, while Samsung player Choi Hyung-woo is hitting .367 with two home runs and eight RBI against this weekend’s opponent.
