Cooling things off
Korail workers pour water on subway tracks at Gunpo Station in Gyeonggi yesterday afternoon during the day’s hottest hours to lower the tracks’ temperature. According to safety policies, the water is poured on the tracks when the air temperature hits 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 degrees Fahrenheit) and when the temperature of the track reaches over 50 degrees Celsius in order to prevent deformation of the tracks.
