골드러쉬
예나 지금이나 황금은 권력과 부귀(富貴)를 상징한다. 고대 이집트인들에게 황금은 태양신의 분신이었다. 파라오 투탕카멘의 관은 110㎏짜리 순금으로 제작됐고, 미라 얼굴에는 황금 마스크를 씌웠다. 황금으로 장식함으로써 파라오가 신과 동격임을 알린 것이다. 중국인의 황금 사랑은 정평이 나 있다. 청(淸) 왕조 건륭제는 밥그릇도 황금으로 만들어 썼다고 한다. “중국인의 최대 종교는 황금”이란 말까지 있다.내가 한 영작
