Beast treats Asian fans to a Christmas bonanza

To mark the 800th day since the band Beast’s debut, a special video concert was shown at movie theaters across Asia on Dec. 24 just as fans were getting ready to ring in Christmas.

The event began at 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve in six CGV theaters in Korea and in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other Asian locales. It lasted one hour and 20 minutes.

Leader of the group Yoon Du-jun hoped that the event would be like a Christmas present for fans.

“This is our third Christmas since our debut, and I am so glad we can share the moment with all of our Asian fans in this unique way,” Yoon explained.

The boy band has reached stardom worldwide as the group recently returned from performing in London and São Paulo, Brazil, as part of its agency-run United Cube Concert. The boy band also made its debut on a Brazilian music program “Fantástico” on Dec. 20.

A representative from the Brazilian channel behind the television program said that demand for Beast and other K-pop groups was rapidly growing. Following the airing of the show featuring Beast, the keyword “Fantástico-Beast” was ranked first on the list of trending terms on Twitter.
