Julien Kang was not on drugs: police

The Suseo Police Precinct announced yesterday that actor Julien Kang tested negative in a drug test conducted by the National Forensic Service (NFS) days after the French-Canadian was apprehended for loitering on the streets of Gangnam District wearing only his underwear.

“We were informed by the NFS that Kang tested negative in their inspection,” the police confirmed, adding that the case will officially close.

Authorities continued that it was “inevitable” for them to adopt a suspicious stance on Kang, 32, because they “couldn’t smell alcohol” on him at the point of arrest.

The celebrity was apprehended on Sept. 18 in Yeoksam-dong, southern Seoul, after a passerby called the police. When officers arrived at the site, Kang was reportedly located one kilometer (about half a mile) away from his home.

Kang was taken to a police station, where he was reportedly drug tested. The results were negative.

The police announced on Thursday that they would request another more thorough drug test from the NFS.

The model’s agency, Show Brother Entertainment, said through a press release that the actor was heavily drunk and unconscious when the case occurred, and stressed that he did not take drugs.
