KBS to launch world tour of popular ‘Music Bank’ show next month

Korea Broadcasting System, the nation’s biggest TV network, is planning to launch a world tour of its show “Music Bank,” a KBS official said over the weekend.

According to Jeon Jin-guk, the director of KBS’s entertainment division, the show will hit the road next month.

“We have ‘Music Bank in Paris’ scheduled for Feb. 8,” Jeon said during a press conference at KBS Hall in Yeouido, western Seoul. “We are also planning to have shows in Jakarta and Hong Kong in May, and in Los Angeles in September.”

The show, which started in 1998, is currently broadcast in 73 countries via the KBS World channel.

It is currently seen by an audience of more than 200 million viewers, KBS said.

Meanwhile, After School’s UEE and actor Lee Jang-woo (pictured above) have been appointed as the new hosts of “Music Bank” and made their debut on the show on Friday. The two are replacing actor Hyun Woo and actress Kim Min-ji.
