Lotte gets duty-free space in Singapore’s Changi Airport

Lotte Duty Free announced yesterday that it was officially chosen as an operator to run a duty-free outlet at Singapore’s Changi Airport starting in May.

This is Lotte’s second overseas duty-free shop. Lotte in January opened its first overseas shop at Indonesia’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Korea’s largest duty-free retailer in November participated in a bid to win the right to run a duty-free shop at the airport’s Terminal 2 of 80 square meters of space.

Lotte said it will sell Korean souvenirs, including Korean red ginseng ,that are popular with the Chinese population in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Around 47 million passengers use Changi Airport every year, and it is a top-three hub airport in Asia along with Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok Airport and Korea’s Incheon International Airport.
