Actress Han Chae-ah has been cast as the lead female role in the KBS drama “Bride Mask.” The star’s agency confirmed on Feb. 13 that Han will play the role of Chae Hong-joo, who is a singer, gambler and spy. In the television show, Chae will try her best to win over her love interest Lee Kang-to, played by Joo Won.
“Han is usually associated with sexy and friendly female roles,” the agency said. “However in this piece, the audience will see a new side of her that is full of fatal attraction.”
Actor Shin Hyun-joon will also make a guest appearance on the program as the brother of Lee Kang-to.
The drama is set during Japan’s colonial rule of Korea and is based on a heroic figure who wears a kaksital, the mask of the bride character in traditional mask dances. It will air beginning in May on KBS.
