LG Hausys has breakthrough with non-toxic interior film

LG Hausys has launched the industry’s first phthalate-free interior film that contains no toxic agents, it said yesterday. Phthalate is a chemical additive that can make plastic softer. The company said it has introduced an environmentally friendly “Z:IN” interior film free of lead, cadmium and mercury which has been certified by the government’s carbon footprint label system. The new film is highly resistant to impact, abrasion and scratching, and remains stable even when exposed to heat, it said. The company aims to expand into Japan and China, and is targeting global sales of 30 billion won ($26.9 million) this year, up 20 percent from 2011.
