Foundation to support 150 social enterprises over 5 years

The Chung Mong-koo Foundation will help build 150 social enterprises over the next five years in partnership with Hyundai Motor Group and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, it said yesterday.

The foundation will select 30 teams of young entrepreneurs each year through a series of auditions to help create a total of 1,500 jobs for young adults.

The selected teams will be mentored by successful social enterprises, be taught the skills needed to enter the market and receive other support for startups.

The foundation will begin the auditions in five regions in June. It will select 60 teams and whittle this down to 30 after reviewing their business plans, it said.
