McDonald’s teaming up with Uniqlo on one-stop drive-thru
McDonald’s Korea opened a drive-through outlet in Yongin, Gyeonggi, yesterday in collaboration with Japanese fashion retail giant Uniqo. This is the first time McDonald’s and Uniqlo have joined hands to establish an outlet adjacent to one another in Korea.
Officials from the two companies said the move is aimed at producing a synergy effect, which will maximize profits for both sides.
McDonald’s Korea currently operates 14 drive-throughs in association with SK Energy’s gasoline stations, but it plans to add more outlets of a similar nature in collaboration with various industries. “80 percent of the 500 new outlets to be open by 2015 will be drive-throughs,” the company said.
