Kim Yu-na announces music for programs

Kim Yu-na will skate to a film score and compilation of songs from a popular musical in the upcoming season, her agency said yesterday.

All That Sports said Kim will skate her short program to “The Kiss of the Vampire” from the soundtrack from the 1963 film of the same name. Her free skate will be performed to a compilation of songs from “Les Miserables,” the hit Broadway musical based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo.

The agency said David Wilson, Kim’s choreographer for six years, has once again worked on the skater’s programs.

“I wanted to present something new, and David Wilson suggested I try ‘The Kiss of the Vampire’ for my short program,” Kim said.

Wilson explained that he felt the sensuous and mysterious character of the vampire would suit Kim’s on-ice personality for the short program, while the free skate will allow her to express a wider range of emotions.
