Park Ji-min, the teenage contestant and winner of “K-pop Star,” will make her debut as part of a duo next month.

JYP Entertainment announced yesterday that Park, who was 15 years old when she catapulted to fame on this year’s TV program, will join forces with a girl who is the same age.

“The group will be called 15&. Park’s partner is known as ‘Girl Genius’ and is a very talented musician who has been training at JYP,” said a spokesperson from the agency. The two will make their debut as a unit in early October.

Park’s official debut has been awaited by fans since “K-pop Star” came to an end in April. The star has been inactive since.

Upon winning the singing-survival show, Park was handed a cool 300 million won ($266,000) and given the chance to sign with SM, YG or JYP agencies.

She chose JYP and since then has been training and working on her debut album at the company’s headquarters in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul.
