The event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Film Council.
A short montage of this year’s biggest hits as well as a hand printing event took place; and in a poll undertaken of “The 2012 Movie to Watch Again,” “Architecture 101” starring Han Ga-in and Uhm Tae-woong was picked.
The minister of culture, sports and tourism, Choi Gwang-sik said that this year’s success of homemade movies could be attributed to “the passion and ongoing persistence of the movie makers.”
Other VIPs present included Kim Dong-ho of the Busan International Film Festival committee as well as directors Lim Kwon-taek and Lee Yong-ju (“Architecture 101”).
Actors Ahn Sung-ki, Cho Min-soo (“Pieta”) and Uhm from the movie voted No. 1 were all present.
