Mando to merge India firms and focus marketing strength

Mando, the nation’s leading auto parts maker, said yesterday it decided to merge two of its companies in India to reinforce its business in the country.

The affiliate of Halla Group said Mando Automotive India Limited (Mail) will be established April 1 following a merger between Mando India Steering (MIS) and Mando India Limited (MIL).

The merger will be completed after MIS absorbs shares of MIL. Mando will have 71 percent of shares and lead management of Mail.

“We can now put all of our marketing abilities in one and focus on working with customers like Hyundai Motor India, GM India and Nissan, as well as Tata and Mahinda & Mahindra,” an official from Mando said.

“Efficiency will be boosted and the cost of operations also can go down, which will enhance our profitability there.”
