Commemorative coins sporting images of the restored Sungnyemun, which was destroyed in an arson attack five years ago, are ready for sale . The Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operation Corporation said yesterday that it plans to issue 30,000 of the silver coins, each worth 50,000 won, to commemorate the restoration of the gate, also known as Namdaemun, which will open to the public next month. Orders can be made by visiting Nonghyup or Woori banks or by visiting the corporation’s Web site, www.komsco.com. The front of the coin shows the fortress and the back has a bird pattern that is emblazoned on the gate’s roof tiles. Each coin is priced at 57,000 won ($52.09). By Park Jong-keun
